Babar Azam a special talent: Tom Moody

Babar Azam has emerged over the last years one of the finest cricket batsman in recent times. He is also the caption of Pakistan T20 cricket team.After scoring a century against west indies in his 25th ODI innings he become the quickest player to score 5 ODI centuries after south African opening batsmen Quinton De kock.Ever since he was included in Pakistan under 19 world cup cricket team it seems that another rare talent has been unleashed. Babar Azam is also leading the 20 ICC ranking with the number one spot he ranked number 3 in ODIs and number 5 in test matches.Former Australian all rounder Tom moody believes that Babar Azam is a special talent and is a pleasure to watch while batting.

"Babar has emerged over the last year or so into something that is going to be so special. We talked about how Virat Kohli is so good on the eye as a batsman. If you think Kohli is good to watch, have a look at Babar bat. My gosh, he is something special,” Moody said in The Pitch Side Experts Podcast.
“I think in the next five to ten years, he will definitely be in your top five [batsmen of the decade] without a question.”

However tom moody don't believe in putting Babar Azam in top 5 batsmen of last decade yet
“Even though he [Babar] has played 26 Test matches but in half of those matches, he was not considered even part of the main batting line-up for Pakistan. He was the after-thought down the order,” he said.

“I think at the moment, it is very hard to justify him at that position given his statistics. Away from home, he is only averaging 37 and at home, he is averaging 67. But we have to consider that he has hardly played away from home and a lot of those games away were during the early part of his career.”

There is no denying in the fact that Babar Azam is the best batsman in the Pakistan side in most recent times and if he continues to perform in a similar fashion he is going to be the next big name for Pakistan Cricket.
